180,000 square foot facility with 14 megawatts of power and 70,000 square feet of server space joins the Nexcenter global data center portfolio of NTT Communications
RagingWire Data Centers, the premier data center provider in the United States and an NTT Communications (NTT Com) group company, cut the ribbon today on its new data center known as California Sacramento 3 or CA3. The ribbon cutting took place at a gala event, one of the largest in the history of the industry, attended by over 600 business and civic leaders from around the world.
The 180,000 square foot CA3 facility with 14 megawatts of power and 70,000 square feet of server space, is fully integrated with RagingWire’s 500,000 square foot data center campus in Sacramento made up of the California Sacramento 1 (CA1) and the California Sacramento 2 (CA2) facilities. CA3 also immediately becomes a featured site in the NexcenterTM global data center platform of NTT Com.
“Today is a big day for RagingWire, our customers, and our partners,” said George Macricostas, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of RagingWire Data Centers. “The CA3 data center is the next step in RagingWire’s U.S. expansion and a new component for the global data center portfolio of NTT Communications. CA3 is truly a world-class data center.”
In 2014, RagingWire joined the NTT Communications family of companies, expanding the U.S. data center footprint within NTT Com’s global portfolio of over 130 data centers. In addition to the $350 million investment in RagingWire, NTT Com made a strategic commitment to RagingWire by funding the company’s growth plan and leveraging RagingWire’s patented data center technologies, expertise, and exceptional customer experience and service model. The combined data center portfolios of RagingWire, NTT Com, and other NTT Com companies including Netmagic in India, Gyron in the U.K., and e-shelter in Germany creates a global data center platform to address the high demand for data center colocation services worldwide.
“Congratulations to RagingWire on the opening of the new CA3 data center in Northern California,” said Akira Arima, CEO of NTT Communications. “RagingWire has been a strategic addition to the NTT Communications family of companies. We look forward to working with you to deliver information and communications technology solutions worldwide.”

The entire campus features RagingWire’s patented 2N+2® design, a 100% availability SLA (service level agreement), extensive telecommunications, N-MatrixTM data center infrastructure management software, 24x7 onsite support, and a proven operational model for delivering superior performance.
