RagingWire Enterprise Solutions, Inc., Northern California’s premier colocation, managed services, and cloud computing data center, has been awarded an incentive rebate of $155,450 from the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD). The rebate reward was earned through energy savings achieved by RagingWire’s innovative techniques and use of proven green technologies. The energy saving efforts included: installing variable speed pumps and fans, motion-activated lighting systems, and improving the efficiency of the water chillers. The results of this past year’s efforts alone created energy savings of over 9,960,000 kWh of electricity, which equates to reducing over 2 million pounds of carbon dioxide emissions. In other words, RagingWire saved the amount of energy equal to completely removing 222 new cars from roads. These savings are incremental to RagingWire’s already environmentally friendly design and ongoing conservation initiatives.

SMUD Principal Energy Advisor, Mike Moreno, C.E.M. explains, "By being a partner in SMUD's Innovative Energy Efficiency Projects, RagingWire implemented energy efficiency measures that are good for our environment, good for their business and will help SMUD achieve our ambitious energy reduction goals." RagingWire is one of SMUD’s top 10 customers and the largest single building customer.

RagingWire’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Doug Adams confirms, “We have invested millions in green technologies that provide us with a long-term ROI. As RagingWire expands our operations, we will continue to invest in the most innovative technologies and practices to insure that RagingWire’s data centers are the most efficient and reliable in the country.” Data center industry estimates have demonstrated that businesses outsourcing their IT infrastructures to an efficient data center can reduce their IT power usage by up to 50%.

“We are quite proud of our ongoing achievements in energy conservation,” said Yatish Mishra, President and CEO of RagingWire. “Environmental stewardship and the responsible use of energy are in RagingWire’s DNA. From the inception of our first data center design, through our LEED certification processes, we knew that investing up front in energy efficient technologies was the right thing to do for our customers, our business, and the community we live in.”
