RagingWire works with solution providers, thought leaders, and operations experts to offer enterprise data center and IT managers the information required to make informed and effective decisions on their colocation strategies
RagingWire Data Centers, the nation’s premier data center provider, announced today that the company will lead a Colocation Strategies Tutorial Session at the AFCOM Spring Data Center World 2013 conference on April 29th, 2013 in Las Vegas at The Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. The tutorial is an exclusive educational session in addition to the full Data Center World conference schedule and includes presentations by a number of colocation experts from across the industry, including a case study from an enterprise data center director and large-scale colocation buyer.
“As the amount of data to be processed keeps increasing and IT availability and security requirements grow, we see many more CIO’s pushing their IT and data center managers to consider colocation strategies,” said Tom Roberts, president of AFCOM. “There are a lot of intricacies involved in choosing the right provider and leveraging colocation as part of an enterprise IT platform. RagingWire has done well to bring so many colocation experts together at AFCOM in order to help our members make the best decisions for their IT systems and applications.”
The educational tutorial session will cover the differences in infrastructure redundancy models, network connectivity, data center security and other basic differentiators between colocation providers. Additionally, the session will highlight strategies to establish colocation requirements, such as space and power, develop comparison models, and create planning templates for installation and migration. A colocation customer case study will share real world experiences about selecting and deploying data center colocation as part of an enterprise IT strategy.
Colocation Strategies tutorial instructors include:
- Douglas Barbin, Principal, BrightLine CPAs & Associates, Inc.
- Richard Fennimore, Executive Account Manager, Schneider Electric
- Annie George, Product Marketing Programs Manager, RagingWire
- Steve Gunderson, Principal, Transitional Data Services
- Jim Leach, Vice President of Marketing, RagingWire
- Phillip Sandino, Director of Customer Solutions, Dominion Virginia Power
- Lee Tamassia, Global Enterprise Marketing Director, Equinix
- Jim Weber, Director of Network and Data Center Operations, Neustar
“RagingWire recognizes that choosing a colocation provider is a distinctly different experience from owning or operating your own data center or managing cloud-based applications,” said Jim Leach, vice president of marketing at RagingWire. “Our goal in leading the Colocation Strategies Tutorial at AFCOM Data Center World is to educate enterprise IT and data center leaders so they can make informed decisions as buyers of data center colocation.”
