Weckworth’s session provides insight and direction on data center outages, incidents, and industry transparency
RagingWire Data Centers, the nation’s premier data center provider, announced today that Jason Weckworth, vice president of data center operations, will deliver a keynote presentation titled “Outages, Incidents, and Transparency” at the prestigious 2013 Uptime Institute Symposium in heart of Silicon Valley.
Mr. Weckworth, with over 25 years of experience in critical facilities construction and operations, will present a framework and best practices for IT professionals to use when evaluating data center providers – focusing on data center incidents and outages. “Every day data centers across the country have incidents within their facilities,” Weckworth commented. “It is inevitable that equipment will break and systems will fail. The question to ask is not ‘if’ a data center has incidents – it’s what they do when they happen.”
Weckworth continued, “I’d like to see a higher level of transparency between data center colocation providers and customers that will drive an open line of communication to ensure we, as data center operators, can deliver a superior level of service that keeps businesses operating and IT managers satisfied with their outsourcing decision.”
The theme for Uptime Institute Symposium 2013 is “The Global Digital Infrastructure Evolution." IT and data center thought-leaders and innovators from around the world will meet at the Santa Clara Convention Center to share knowledge and discuss how the IT industry can meet its collective goals of performance, availability, energy efficiency, and profitability. Over 700 people are expected to attend including industry stakeholders in enterprise IT, finance, executive management, data center facilities, and corporate real estate.
“A key message in 2013 Uptime Institute Symposium is how the evolution of the global digital infrastructure can be shaped by lessons learned from data center incidents,” said Matt Stansberry, program director for the 2013 Uptime Institute Symposium. “We are pleased to have Jason Weckworth and RagingWire Data Centers contributing to this important industry dialogue.”
Mr. Weckworth is scheduled to speak at 5:00 pm Pacific on Wednesday, May 15 in the Mission City Ballroom, Santa Clara Convention Center, Santa Clara, California.
