Under the "Savings By Design" program managed by the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD), a design energy efficiency evaluation of power and cooling facilities was performed for RagingWire Enterprise Solutions, Inc. SMUD and RagingWire engineers idenitifed several opportunities - Design Efficiency Improvement Opportunities - for consideration.

The two principal measures determined to be the most significant were the installation of oversized cooling towers and the installation of waterside economizers to pre-cool the chilled water. While it will take some time to collect and evaluate the actual energy conservation data, the total estimated savings potential for these two measures is an astounding 2,632,240 kWh in annual energy conservation.
